Longevity Recipe: Asian Lettuce Wraps

This quick recipe will be ready in no time and packs a ton of flavor, protein, fiber and liver-loving ingredients.

Ready in 20 minutes

Prep 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients: 

3 tsp olive oil

1 lb. ground turkey

4-5 TB Hoisin sauce

1 TB soy sauce or coconut aminos (if avoiding soy products)

2 tsp sriracha (may omit if wish for less spicy)

1 TB rice vinegar

1 1/2 tsp sesame oil

2 TB minced garlic

1 TB fresh ginger or 2 tsp powdered

2/3 cup green onions, diced

2 carrots, diced

1 can water chestnuts, drained ad chopped

1 large head of romaine lettuce

Instructions: 

1. Heat oil and saute onions and carrots, add garlic and ginger at the very end. Remove and set aside. 

2. Add more olive oil and cook turkey. 

3. Add the onions and garlic back into the turkey. 

4. Whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil and add to the onion/turkey mixture. 

5. Add water chestnuts and combine. 

5. Garnish with green onions and serve in washed and dried romaine lettuce leaves.
